This one is real simple. Too simple, I thought when I first heard it.
Where do you put your palm-full of shampoo each morning? 99% of us plop it near the front of our hairline. We work it into the top of the head, paying special attention to the areas around our face, and then quickly scrub down around our necks and rinse. That’s how I did it.
For several reasons, breakage and split ends are almost always worse around the face. We see that portion of our hair the most, so we’re the most critical of it. We begin at the front of our hair when we brush it. Scrubbing extra vigorously around the front of the head only adds to that breakage.
PRO TIP: take your dollop of shampoo, tilt your head forward slightly and begin lathering at the base of your head, concentrating all of the shampoo at the bottom of your hairline. It’ll feel pretty strange the first couple of times you do this. Gently work up toward the back of the ears. And finally smooth the lather you’ve built up over the front of your hair and do give that portion of your scalp a gentle massage.
The first time I tried this, I felt like I’d put extensions through the back of my hair. I’ve never actually done that, but I imagine this is what it would feel like!
Give this one a try. It’s free!
