Captain Obvious here.
So I know I’m the very last person to give coconut oil praise. But I’m always skeptical of fads, especially beauty or food trends. Coconut oil is a little of both.
During a recent (and somewhat desperate) attempt to find a makeup remover that would finally leave me without a STITCH of mascara, I decided to give coconut oil a try.
Sweet Hayzeus! Coconut oil is AMAZING. I admit it. I take a little between my fingers, close my eyes tightly, and then pat it onto my lashes. I wait a few seconds, keeping my eyes sealed shut, and then wash it off, while I rinse off the rest of my face makeup with a gentle cleanser.
I’m like a newborn baby!
Well, I’m at least a version of myself that I usually only see after a makeup-free week at the beach. Mascara doesn’t know me. I don’t know mascara. It’s fantastic.
Random and Amazing Benefit
A couple weeks into using coconut oil on my eyes, I noticed that my eyelashes were looking crazy long and healthy. Logically, this makes sense because using coconut oil is much less abrasive than other removers and functions essentially as a conditioning treatment while is removes my makeup.
For easier handling, I keep a small, low mason jar of it on my sink and in my shower.
Coconut oil virgin note: if you’re completely new to coconut oil then know that it is a solid at room temperature but magically liquefies when it touches skin. It’s fancy.
Give it a try.
